Prepare for Your Search for Old Historic Homes for Sale
I’m off to look at old homes in a promising area for the weekend. I’ll tell you all about the area when I come back, but, in the meantime, I wanted to share the things I bring with me on my house hunting adventures. Shopping for old houses is completely different than buying new homes. You aren’t going into an elegant model house, flipping through books of choices and filling out a bit of paperwork. No, with old houses, there is no model house. Things can get a bit icky.
Because you never know what you are going to run into when you step into an old house, I always come prepared. This is what I pack in my house hunting kit:
- First aid kit
- Flashlight
- Measuring tape
- Camera
- Notepad and pencil
- Baby wipes
- Gloves
- Bottled water or other beverage
- Snack bars
- Cell phone
Is there anything you bring along as you search for old houses?
